Gaming Protagonists…

After reading this weeks Monday Musing on Inside Xbox, it got me thinking.  A lot of people complain that there aren’t enough female protagonists in games these days.

Think about it, A LOT of games are based around the happenings of a male character.  But on the other hand, RPGs allow you to choose whether your character is male or female.  I firmly agree with the poster of the Monday Musing.  Put yourself in the protagonists position instead of seeing it as “another man” or “another woman”.  Look at their situation, it can relate to anyone.

Game developers do their best to make a game as immersible and interesting as possible, they know there is no pleasing everyone, but there is a level which make it acceptable and playable by all – and that’s what makes a game, rather than people buying it.
